Our 9th festival
will take place in November 2008. The deadline
for entries to arrive at our office is July 15, 2008 and decisions will
be made in August 2008. Without exception, any entries that arrive after
the deadline date will gladly be considered for our 2009 festival.
There
is no entry fee.
The
Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival only screens films with Jewish themes.
We screen both long and short films, features and documentaries.
Filmmakers
and distributors of Israeli films please note: We hold the opinion that
not all Israeli films are Jewish films. If your film does not have a Jewish
theme to it, it will not be suitable for our festival.
Filmmakers or distributors who are interested in having their film considered
should send the following to our office:
- A preview
DVD (PAL preferred). We no longer accept VHS tapes.
- Information
sheet that gives the following data for each film submitted:
- Name
of film
- Country
of production
- Language
- Year
of release
- Running
time
- Screening
formats available
- International
distributor's name and contact information (address, phone, fax,
email and relevant websites)
- List
of film's awards and honours won
- 100-word
synopsis of film
- Supporting
materials (e.g., press kits, photo stills, and promotional materials).
ELECTRONIC formats are preferred, when available. Photo stills and graphics
should be submitted in GIF, JPG, TIF or EPS format. Resolutions of 300
dpi are preferred. No Mac files, please.
Our
address is:

Kong Jewish Film Festival
Suite 804, Winning House

Central, Hong Kong
NOTE
#1: DO NOT WRITE "CHINA" ON THE MAILING ADDRESS AS YOUR POST
OFFICE MAY SEND YOUR ENTRY TO BEIJING BY MISTAKE WHERE IT WILL
GET STUCK IN CUSTOMS. IT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAPPEN!
NOTE
#2: YOU DO NOT NEED TO COURIER YOUR ENTRY TO US. SAVE YOURSELF
SOME MONEY BY WRAPPING IT IN BUBBLE PACK OR USING A PADDED ENVELOPE,
AND SENDING IT BY AIR MAIL. OUR POST OFFICE IS VERY RELIABLE AND IT ONLY
TAKES ONE OR TWO DAYS LONGER THAN BY COURIER.
NOTE
#3: CONSIDER USING A SOFT PLASTIC DVD CASE (THE CLAMSHELL KIND
THAT COMES IN MANY DIFFERENT COLOURS -- SEE BELOW) AS IT SHIPS BETTER
THAN A TRADITIONAL DVD BOX OR A SQUARE HARD PLASTIC DVD CASE DOES.
Due to resource
constraints, we are unable to return any materials sent to us. |
