| Chez Schwartz |

|
Lonely Planet notes: "Inspiring carnivorous
passion among locals, tourists and
celebrities alike, this old-time deli is
considered to serve the best smoked meat in
Montréal, whether it's brisket, duck, chicken
or turkey, all piled high on sourdough rye
bread. The meat is cured on the premises and
aged without chemicals. Waiters can be
impatient but it just adds to the legend."
Chez Schwartz takes us inside a year in the
life of Schwartz's Deli - the unique
75-year-old landmark on Montreal's historic
Main. Filmed through changing seasons, from
the quiet of early morning preparation to the
frenetic bustle of packed lunch times and
never ending line-ups, to the more relaxed
ambience late at night - Chez Schwartz is an
evocative, cinematic portrait of a small
spunky deli known worldwide equally for its
atmosphere and smoked meat.

The Galilee Eskimos (Eskimosim BaGalil) |
|
|
|
An old kibbutz in the Hills of Galilee finds
itself deep in debt and is threatened by
lawsuits from bankers to the point of
bankruptcy. On the evening prior to the
arrival of the bailiffs, men, women and
children abandon their homes, taking with
them all their possessions. By the time the
sun rises over the kibbutz, twelve senior
citizens discover that they have been
forgotten and left to fend for themselves.
While the group initially sinks into deep
depression, it soon begins to organise itself
into an efficient communal unit. THE GALILEE
ESKIMOS is a movie about the power that
people reveal when abandoned and betrayed by
society and relatives, who leave them alone
to determine their own fate.
